Dr. Casimiro Vizzini is a Medical Doctor with extensive experience in Science, Health and International Relations. He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2001 from the University of Palermo, Italy, and specialized in Urology in 2006. He later pursued a Master’s in International Cooperation at the Institute of International and Strategic Relations (IRIS) in Paris, deepening his understanding of global collaboration and international affairs.
In 2007, Dr. Vizzini joined UNESCO’s Science Policy and Capacity Building Division, where he worked for over 12 years on projects in science diplomacy, communication, and education. During this time, he designed and implemented initiatives funded by the European Commission, focusing on building capacity and fostering international partnerships in science and health. He also collaborated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) on projects related to science diplomacy.
From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Vizzini served as Secretary General of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), where he contributed to advancing global health initiatives and strengthening collaboration among academic institutions. Since 2022, he has been responsible for Institutional Relations at the One Sustainable Health for All Foundation (OSH), working to promote a sustainable One Health approach and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
With over 18 years of experience, Dr. Vizzini brings a practical and multidisciplinary perspective to global health and international cooperation.
