One Health and CO₂ Mitigation
Organized by the Health Diplomacy Alliance (a signatory of the 2050Today Charter), in partnership with 2050Today, and in collaboration withStand Up & Supfullness and La Libellule
Join us for a unique, immersive experience combining physical activity, environmental education, and biodiversity in action. This special event highlights the One Health Approach, the vital interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health, through outdoor engagement and expert-led presentations.
Part 1: Paddleboarding & Lake Biodiversity
The activity begins with a stand-up paddleboarding session on Lake Lehmant, coordinated by Stand Up & Supfullness. Participants will be introduced to paddleboarding by a professional guide, who will also offer an engaging presentation on the biodiversity of the lake and its surrounding ecosystem.
Part 2: Interactive Nature Presentation by La Libellule
Following the water activity, participants will attend a presentation by La Libellule, a Geneva-based foundation dedicated to raising awareness of local wildlife, flora, and ecosystems. Their programs include field excursions and activities based at the Plantamour Pavilion nature center. This session will highlight the importance of biodiversity in fostering healthier environments and communities.
This activity is designed to demonstrate the One Health Approach, emphasizing how human, animal, and environmental health are deeply interconnected. By focusing on biodiversity and local environmental impacts, the event aims to:
- Raise awareness of environmental determinants of health
- Show how sustainable practices contribute to global goals like climate change mitigation, antimicrobial resistance reduction, and non-communicable disease prevention
- Illustrate how reduced CO₂ emissions support human and ecosystem health
- Encourage collaborative, cross-sectoral thinking
